Clinical trials are research studies that explore the efficacy of medical strategy, treatment modality, device, or intervention protocol for human. These studies also evaluate which approach is appropriate for certain illnesses or group of population. Clinical trial is the gold standard in epidemiological research that produce the best data available for healthcare decision making. Clinical trials are one of the final stages of a long and intensive research process. The process begins at the lab and ends by the bed-side where clinical trials take place. Clinical trials are performed in sequential manner with strict adherence to ethical principles that protect human subject participating in research projects. The ultimate goals for a clinical trials is to improve the overall health outcomes and population well-being and advancing the wheel of knowledge forward.
