Endodontic Apical Plug

Dr. Mohammed Alshehry, a graduate of College of Dentistry,  King Saudi University and  Consultant of Implant and Restorative Dentistry has invented the Endodontic Apical Plug which is about a tool for filling root canals to prevent the passage of bacteria to root canal system of the tooth after preparation of the root canal, and due to the importance of this remedial action, several methods and tools have been invented to facilitate the obturation of root canal system with a leak-proof and, in the present invention an Endodontic apical plug made of plastic or other material that are biocompatible with tissues is proportional to its linear cylindrical cavity of the center cone shape, plus 3 side vents oval in shape and connected to longitudinal cavity in core of the plug, with the a 3 lateral directing  wings and rounded corners with spaces between them, in the tip of the plug a double seal protection against leakage, the plug does not  need to a handle which helps to leave a space for post placement in the root to support fixed Prosthodontics on the tooth and prevent leakage of material that may happen during post space preparation.

Short CV of Dr. Mohammed Alshehri:

Dr. Al Shehri has graduated from the College of Dentistry, King Saud University in 2001.  Academically, he has acquired a Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry.  Thereafter, Dr. Al Shehri joined the SBARD Program wherein he obtained the Saudi Specialty Certificate in Advanced Restorative Dentistry.  Subsequently, he was able to achieve a Certificate for Saudi Fellowship in Dental Implant and currently a Fellow of International Team for Implantology (ITI).

Professionally, Dr. Al Shehri has done a multiple researches, patents and likewise local and international presentations.  Currently, Dr. Al Shehri is a Consultant in Cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry at College of Medicine and University Hospitals and board member of The Saudi Dental Society
