Synopsis:

The use of fillers has shifted from a relatively myopic view in filling lines, such as the nasiolabial folds, to a more global one that values the face as a complete, cohesive aesthetic unit. Furthermore, a perfectly corrected lower face appears mismatched in the setting of a neglected middle and upper face. The upper face is often neglected by both the physician and the patient. Loss of frontal and temporal fullness is a common feature of the aging face, even seen at a relatively young age. It’s results in narrowing of the upper face, loss of the youthful convex frontal curve, shortening and descending of the eyebrows. By reviewing the beauty standers and moods of rejuvenation of the upper face, we can reach a complete aesthetic face.
