===
SaudiDent
===
===

Dear Dr. Ahmed, I would like to congratulate you for the presidency of SDS. I perceive your action trying to bridge the gap and get in touch using the technology (Current standard of Communication) as a leap forward. As you might know that I had been part of SDS for almost ten years, and I do beleive that I can pinpoint some of the issues than need to be optimized and tweaked.
Allow me to post some of them.
** Monthly Activities **
** Website/electronic media **
I wish you all the best of luck ...
Please be assured that SaudiDent.com is under your command ...
Mahmoud ...

Dear Dr. Ahmed,
At first I would like to wish you and our Saudi Dental Society (SDS) a nice and productive holy month of Ramadan...
Scientific journals are the face of any well-established and respectable organization or society, and although the Saudi Dental Journal (SDJ) has a long history going back to 1989, it is yet to be internationally recognized in order to deliver to the rest of the world the exceptional work of our Saudi (and non-Saudi) local scientists and clinicians.
For some reason, the SDJ is not found on pubmed or other scientific databases, unlike for example the Saudi Medical Journal (SMJ) or Annals of Saudi Medicine (ASM), making the large majority of publications none visible to other parts of the world.
I must acknowledge, however, that transferring the journal to an international publisher "ELSEVIER" with international web access "ScienceDirect" rather than the limited local website access was a huge and very important step forward.
(P.S. Is SDJ still the official journal of the SDS as the website says? or is it produced on behalf of King Saud University as noted by ELSEVIER?)
I would like to say congratulations for this successful step, hoping that it will be followed by the international recognition that the SDJ and the Saudi dental community really deserves.
Regards,,
